Mr. Terry Gou is the Founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group. Since its establishment in 1974, the company has become the world’s largest electronics manufacturer and a leading global high technology solutions provider.
The company is recognized internationally for its industry leadership, including being ranked 26rd in the 2020 Fortune Global 500 rankings.
In addition to Foxconn, Mr. Gou is also the Founder of iCare Diagnostics Inc., a newly established company that specializes in the development and marketing of preventive healthcare services.
Mr. Gou is actively involved in international education and business affairs and has been recognized for his contributions and achievements. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in Beijing and an Executive Director of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit. He was ranked number 29 in Harvard Business Review’s list of The Best-Performing CEOs in the World in 2017. In addition, he was also recognized as one of 30 Global Game Changers by Forbes in 2016.
Mr. Gou is actively involved in a wide range of philanthropic and social development initiatives for underprivileged youth. In 2000, he founded the Taiwan-based YongLin Foundation to provide funds and support projects ranging from education to healthcare and others. The YongLin Healthcare Foundation has donated over USD 500 Millions to the National Taiwan University Medical School to develop a world-class cancer prevention, treatment and research center. In addition, the YongLin Education Foundation initiated the “Tomorrow School” program that aims to bridge the knowledge gap by providing remedial education to students in remote villages. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced in 2016 that Terry Gou was a member of the MIT Charter Society, thanking him for his contribution to STEM Program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Program).
