Academic Achievements
From 1976 to 1993, Dr. Haseltine served as a professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health. At Harvard, he founded two research departments on cancer and HIV/AIDS. He is recognized as an expert in cancer, AIDS, and genomics. He has authored more than 200 manuscripts in peer reviewed journals and more than a dozen books, including six books on SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Haseltine is a pioneer in biotechnology having founded more than a dozen biotechnology companies in fields ranging from development of cutting edge pharmaceuticals to new materials and fuels. Dr. Haseltine is the founder of Human Genome Sciences and served as the chairman and CEO until 2004. He also founded multiple successful biotechnology companies and developed a total of 8 successfully marketed drugs.
